Greek cruise ship operate expect a 25-percent decrease in bookings for 2017 as a result of recent and troubling political developments in Turkey, the president of a trade group (EEKFN) representing local operators and agencies told the state-run news agency this week.
"This year the cruise sector in Greece rose to very good levels because many cruise ships bound for Turkey changed itineraries and came to our country," Association of Cruise Ship Owners and Maritime Agencies (EEKFN) president Theodoros Kontes said.
He made the statements after a meeting on the sector's problems with two main opposition New Democracy deputies.
