The Labor Department said 20,000 jobs were shed last month. The national unemployment rate, which is compiled from a separate survey, fell to 5 percent from 5.1 percent in March.President Bush reacted to the economic news in a speech in St. Louis, Missouri.The President said, "Today, there was another report out that showed that we lost 20,000 jobs last month, even though the unemployment rate dropped to 5 percent, in other words, the unemployment rate went down.
