A sailboat reportedly carrying some 170 foreign nationals, possible irregular migrants aiming to reach European territory, was detected drifting without power 51 nautical miles south of the Peloponnese, off southern Greece, on Sunday.
The operator of the vessel has issued a SOS.
The vessel is being towed to the port of Kalamata by a freighter, with a coast guard accompanying it.
No other information was announced.
