A light earthquake measuring 4.5 on the Richter scale was recorded at 5:22 a.m. (03.22 GMT) near the Ionian island of Zakynthos. The quake was pinpointed at 67 kilometers from the island and at a depth of two kilometers.
The specific sea region is one of the most seismically active in and around Greece.
