The relevant labor ministry on Thursday clarified that a long-expected draft bill envisioning a 120-month installment plan to pay off arrears will not include debts to the tax bureau after all.
Minister Efi Achtsioglou said the draft bill will only include an installment plan for arrears to social security funds.
Negotiations between the Greek government and European creditors are still ongoing on whether an installment plan will be extended for arrears to the tax bureau, with the latter demanding strict criteria for eligible taxpayers and legal entities.
Another "glitch" in the draft bill for arrears to social insurance funds is that the relief measure excludes taxpayers and businesses that dispute the level of the arrears and have sought recourse to the courts.
