A 39-year-old Russian national known as "Mr. Bitcoin" was transferred by ambulance on Thursday to a Piraeus courthouse to hear his motion for release from remand.
Alexander Vinnik has been on a hunger strike for several days, amid 20 months of incarceration in Greek jails, in relation to four international arrest warrants against him, two from Russia, one from the United States and one from France.
Vinnik is accused of being the operator of the now-defunct crypto exchange platform BTC-e, which specialized in transactions using bitcoin.
He has demanded extradition to his home country, Russia, to face charges there.
His chief counsel is former Greek Parliament speaker Zoi Konstantopoulou.
