The European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) on Monday elected Greek law professor and veteran ECHR jurist Linos-Alexandre Sicilianos as its new president. He will take office on May 5, 2019. Sicilianos succeeds Guido Raimondi.
Sicilianos will be the first Greek national to hold the post.
