A moderate earthquake was felt in the greater Athens area at 12.46 p.m. (10.46 GMT), with the quake measuring 5.2 on the Richter scale.
The epicenter was west of Athens, in the Corinthian Gulf, close to the coastal town of Galaxidi, according to the Geodynamic Institute in Athens.
No reports of damages were provided, although residents across areas bordering on the Corinth Gulf emerged from buildings.
