Two out of three companies and other legal entities in Greece declared no profits to the tax bureau for 2017, statistics released recently by the Independent Public Assets Authority revealed.
Specifically, out of 255,018 legal entities that filed tax returns in 2018 - for 2017 - 163,273 (or 64.02 percent) declared losses or zero revenue/profits.
Exactly 100,021 businesses of various types (39.22 percent) reported losses for fiscal 2017, with total losses for the specific year exceeding a whopping 47 billion euros. More than 63,000 legal entities reported zero revenues.
Conversely, 91,745 businesses declared net taxable profits reaching a meager 13.368 billion euros.
