Two Greek beaches are included in TripAdvisor 's 2019 list for the 25 best beaches in the world, rankings based on users' preferences.
Both beaches, in fact, are located in Chania (Hania) prefecture, in western Crete, namely, the Balou lagoon (15th) and also well-known Elafonissi (21st on the list).

In terms of the 25 best beaches in Europe, another two locations in Greece are included: "Kleftiko" on the Cyclades island of Mylos, and "Simos", in the extreme southeast of the Peloponnese.
