Main opposition New Democracy (ND) president Kyriakos Mitsotakis οn Friday referred to the need for annual growth rates in post-bailout Greece of at least 3 to 4 percent, while again charging that the current Tsipras government is severely over-taxing the country's middle classes in order to finance pre-election spending.

Speaking at the annual Delphi economic forum, the center-right and pro-reform ND leader again said that if elected, his party in power will undertake "structural reforms" aimed to allow lower annual primary budget deficits - a prospect that would entail European creditors' "Ok".

In staying "on message", the former minister promised to cut taxes across-the-board, while again pointing to the need to abolish a constitutional ban on the founding and operation of non-state universities in the country.

Municipal and regional elections are scheduled in May, as are European Parliament elections, while a general election must take place no later than October 2019.
