A total of 122 people were picked up by the coast guard over the weekend off the eastern Aegean islands of Lesvos (Mytilene) and Samos, as they were headed for Greek territory in three separate instances.
The third country nationals had reportedly disembarked from the opposite Turkish coast in an attempt to illegally enter the country - part of an ongoing migrant/refugee crisis that reached its peak in 2015.
