Figures for Greece’s primary budget surplus, as a percentage of annual GDP, showed that a dramatic over-performance in the Jan-Aug 2018 period.
Specifically, the finance minister said the creditor-mandated primary budget surplus reached 3.157 billion euros over the period, triple the target of 917 million euros, and lower than 3.544 billion euros in the same eight-month period of 2017.
Based on a modified cash basis over the same period, a deficit in the state budget balance reaches 1.220 billion euros, down from 3.384 billion euros foreseen in a supplementary medium-term fiscal strategy for 2019-22.
Net state revenues reached 31.86, up 937 million euros (3 percent) from the target.
