A light earthquake measureing 3.7 on the Richter scale was reported at 13.00 (11.00 GMT) just northeast of the western port city of Patras.
The quake's epicenter was in a sea region nine kilomters NE of Patras. Nevertheless, the tremor was felt in the region due to a relatively swallow depth of just three kilometers.
