Finance ministry sources on Wednesday denied a same-day press report claiming that a previously agreed to austerity measure, namely, a reduction in the tax-free annual income threshold, will be implemented a year earlier than planned.
The report was carried in the Wednesday edition of the Athens daily "Nea".
The same government sources denied that creditors, particularly the IMF, are pushing for the stepped up measure, from 2020 to 2019.
