Three merchant seamen of the reefer vessel “Saronic Breeze” have been abducted by pirates from the Nigerian Delta, after the latter boarded the ship off the coast of Benin.
The vessel, which was later released and continued its journey, belongs to the Laskaridis Shipping group. The vessel’s managing company, Baltmed Reefer Services, announced that it was taking all actions necessary in order to free the seamen.
According to Russian authorities, 18 Russian nationals and two Ukrainians comprise the crew of the vessel.
