“Better late than never” may be the rallying cry of 1,720 successful candidates in an examination for a public sector job in Greece, given that the exam dates from 1998.
The successful candidates, 18 years after placing in the exam, will finally land a civil service job in the now crisis-plagued country’s public sector, with the group expected to be divvied up between five ministries.
The decision to finally hire the 1,720 successful candidates will be published in the relevant government gazette in the coming days.
