A spike in the number of Mideast nationals and other third world irregular migrants landing on a handful of Greek isles, after clandestinely departing from Turkish territory, has been recorded over the past few days (file photo).

A relevant government coordinator on the still serious refugee-migrant issue over the weekend rejected press reports claiming that Mideast war refugees would be transferred from the Berlin area to Crete, Greece's largest island.
 
Giorgos Kyritsis, a MP that doubles as a spokesman for the leftist government on the issue, Tweeted that references in a handful of press stories are “absolutely unfounded”.
