A restructuring of debts by taxpayers and corporate entities with major arrears to the state, after a previous evaluation procedure on the sustainability of their debts is completed, is planned by the finance ministry.
The initiative was cited by the head of the general secretariat for public revenues, Giorgos Pitsilis, who spoke to “N”.
He also unveiled an initiative to collect data on Greek businesses’ “behavior” in terms of transactions, and in comparison to similar businesses and sectors on an EU-level
Pitsilis also said the ministry's emphasis will be to uncover untaxed capital and transactions, and not to simply impose fines.
