No extraordinary Eurogroup meeting will be held on Thursday to consider the Greek program, with a spokesman for Eurogroup chairman Jeroen Dijsselbloem making a relevant announcement, via a Tweet, on Tuesday evening.

Spokesman Michel Reijns added that “more time needed -- Meeting on first review, contingency package and debt at later stage.”

Negotiations in Athens this week between top Greek government officials and representatives of institutional creditors will reportedly continue after May 1, which is Easter Sunday in Greece.

As “N” reported over the past few days, Athens and lenders, the so-called “Quartet”, have unresolved differences over the latest demand by creditors, namely, a 3.6-billion-euro “contingency package” in case Greece does not meet primary budget surplus targets through 2018.

According to reports, creditors, especially the IMF, have nixed the leftist government’s compromise proposal of an automatic fiscal adjustment mechanism that will be activated if targets fall short.

Greek Finance Minister Euclid Tsakalotos earlier in the day reiterated that the government would not accept a detailed list of measures to be included a contingency package.
