Greece’s primary budget surplus totaled 2.679 billion euros in the first quarter of 2016, up from 1.732 billion over the corresponding period last year and bettering a target of 1.095 billion euros.
A relevant finance ministry department overseeing the budget execution announced that the state budget recorded a surplus of 222 million euros in Q1 2016, up from a deficit of 503 million euros in the same trimester of 2015 and budget target for a deficit of 1.335 billion euros.
State budget net revenue totaled 12.503 billion euros, down 0.6 percent from the target. Regular budget net revenue reached 10.949 billion euros, up 3.6 percent from the targets.
