The Greek and Portuguese prime ministers signed a joint statement against austerity on Monday, during a visit to Athens by the latter’s head of government.
Alexis Tsipras and Antonio Costa both agreed that Europe must change course, agreeing that they will boost cooperation between them, on the international, European and regional levels, and in dealing with the economic crisis, the security crisis and the migrant crisis.
Referring to the ongoing refugee crisis, both prime ministers emphasized the need for cooperation on the basis of solidarity, as well as favoring a revision of the Dublin II protocol.
