The almost Sisyphean-like process to finally establish a unified and functional land registry (cadastre) throughout the country was again postponed on Thursday, as the board of the relevant state-controlled organization announced that an international tender to record deeds, titles and surveying maps beyond the greater Athens area has been declared void.
The board of the National Cadastre & Mapping Agency S.A., as the publicly held company is known, merely stated that another tender will be submitted.
Greece is one of the very few countries in Europe that lacks a fully functioning land registry for its entire territory.
