Neither local or general lockdowns are up for discussion and any restrictions will continue to be along the current lines, namely restrictions for those that choose not to be vaccinated, stated Health Minister Thanos Plevris from the city of Larissa on Friday.
Plevris urged local residents to get vaccinated, as there is a surge of the pandemic in the region, adding that it was clearly apparent that there were fewer hospitalisations in areas where vaccination coverage was higher. The government is going to further reinforce the national health system in order for more citizens to be able to find treatment, he added.
"In any case, we are ready to deal with this difficult situation," Plevris said from Larissa.
