Last week's strong quake raises Samos island by 18 to 25cm

Scientists reported that the eastern Aegean island of Samos has risen by 18 to 25 centimeters due to a strong 6.7 on the Richter scale earthquake last Friday, pinpointed at 16 kilometers north, northwest of the isle.

A team of geologists and seismologists from the University of Athens recorded the elevation of the island's tectonic plate.
