An earthquake measuring 4.4 on the Richter scale was recorded at 08.29 local time (06.29 GMT) in a sea region southwest of the Ionian island of Zakynthos, an active seismic zone off the western Greece mainland. The quake was pinpointed at 26 kilometers west-southwest of the island.
