The Stelios Philanthropic Foundation this week announced a donation, worth roughly 500,000 euros, to be distributed amongst the closest family members of the victims of last July’s Mati wildfire in eastern coastal Attica prefecture.
The donation was announced during a press conference by the charitable organization's president, Easyjet founder and shipowner Sir Stelios Haji-Ioannou.
The foundation donated 100,000 euros to the Greek Red Cross in the immediate aftermath of the deadly wildfire, which has resulted in the death of 99 people so far.
