International Monetary Fund (IMF) spokesman Gerry Rice on Thursday confirmed that the Fund considers that new austerity measures in still bailout-dependent Greece may be possible.

He also said an Asset Quality Review is necessary for Greek banks as well as more stress tests for lenders in the country, echoing a standing position by the Fund's leadership.

Finally, he again reminded that the IMF believes debt relief is necessary for the country.
