The private beach at the Vouliagmeni resort, southeast of Athens proper, will open its gates until midnight on Monday in order to allow people an opportunity to view what scientists are calling the most luminous full moon since 1948.
The next time the specific celestial body comes this close to earth will be 2034, according to NASA.
Scientists say this year’s full moons are roughly 7 percent bigger in the night sky and up to 16 percent more luminous.
A mild evening temperature, between 11C to 19C, is also forecast.
The beach, owned by a public assets holding company, will field a reduced one-euro entrance fee for the special evening.
