Two binding offers were tabled on Friday for a 24-percent stake for Greece's state-run Independent Power Transmission Operator (IPTO or ADMIE), according to the relevant energy ministry.

The two offers were made by Italy-based Terna and China’s State Grid Corp.

Friday was the deadline for the submission of the bids. The sealed offers are expected to be opened within days.

The Greek government has committed to selling off 49 percent of the grid operator, as per a memorandum-mandated provision.

In a related development, a scheduled meeting on Friday between the top representatives of institutional creditors and Energy Minister Panos Skourletis was postponed for next week.
