A mild earthquake measuring 4.2 on the Richter scale was reported at 05.34 a.m. (03.34 GMT) on Monday morning in a sea region between the island of Zakynthos and the mainland harbor of Kyllini, off the western coast of Greece in the Ionian Sea.
The epicenter was pinpointed at 17 kilometers northeast of the city of Zakynthos and at a depth of five kilometers.
No damages or injuries were reported. The area is often plagued by seismic activity.
