3,601 irregular migrants, Mideast refugees landed on Greek isles after failed Turkey coup

A total of 3,601 third country nationals reached Greek territory – namely, a handful of eastern Aegean islands -- in an irregular manner from Turkey after a failed coup in the neighboring country on July 15, the International Organization for Migration (IOM) announced on Tuesday.

The gender breakdown for group of people, now usually identified in both official reports and news stories as “refugees and migrants”, was males, 44 percent, along with females, 22 percent, and minors, 34 percent.
