A shortfall of 641 million euros, or 2.2 percent of the projected target, was reported for the Jan-July 2016 period, according to the Greek finance ministry.
Specifically, the state budget posted a primary budget surplus of 3.55 billion euros, down from 3.712 billion euros during the corresponding period of 2015, and also short of a target of 874 million euros for the period.
In terms of an amended cash basis, the budget recorded a deficit of 832 million euros, down from 840 million euros in 2015 and the deficit goal of 3.486 billion euros.
