The relevant economy ministry this week announced that more businesses opened in Greece in 2015 and the first half of 2016 than closed, during the corresponding period.
According to the relevant general secretariat at the ministry, newly formed businesses in 2015 totaled 43,846, whereas the number that legally dissolved reached 24,846. In the first half of the current year, the numbers were 20,345 and 16,994, respectively.
The ministry clarified that the figures include businesses that employed an option of retroactively dissolving after having ceased operations earlier.
