Greek-controlled contractor J&P Avax on Wednesday announced that it had won a 400-million-dollar contract for the design, construction and turnkey operation of a 1,500-MW power station outside Baghdad, Iraq.
The contract was awarded by the Mass Global Holdings group, with J&P Avax overcoming competitors from Turkey, Germany, Spain and China.
The project’s total cost, along with acquired equipment, is predicted to reach one billion US dollars.
