EU Commission President Jean Claude Juncker was upbeat of his assessment of Greece's recent bailout performance, saying the country is "on the right path" towards recovery.
Juncker arrived in Greece on Tuesday at the very moment when 7.5 billion euros in bailout loan money is due to be disbursed into Greek state coffers.
"Results are encouraging," he told reporters, with Greece's leftist prime minister, Alexis Tsipras, by his side.
Nevertheless, he added that "the Greek government, parliament and the Greek people
should have real ownership of the programs that are being applied," in a bid to keep up the reforms momentum.
