Outstanding debuts to the state increased by 1.299 billion euros in February, according to updated figures supplied by the relevant finance ministry general secretariat on Friday.
The increase was 2.755 billion euros over January-February 2016, of which 2.445 billion are outstanding tax payments.
Total outstanding debts to the Greek state total a whopping 84.154 billion euros, of which 25 percent is owed by state-run utilities, municipal enterprises and companies that have declared bankruptcy or insolvency – some dating back decades ago.
