Contents of a letter sent by the international football federation (FIFA) to the Greek government on Tuesday confirmed that an expulsion from international play will be considered if the cancelled Greek cup tournament does not resume.
FIFA gave Athens and relevant sports deputy minister Stavros Kontonis 10 days’ time to rescind the previous decision.
Kontonis blamed hooligan violence during a semifinal cup match last month as leading to the unprecedented cancellation of a pro tournament.
FIFA described his action as "disproportionate and as interference in the internal affairs" of the Greek football association (EPO).
