A program inaugurating free tours of central Athens’ primary archaeological sites and landmarks will commence on April 7 with a tour around Pnyx Hill – across from the Acropolis – and the adjacent New Acropolis Museum.
The first tour will include a maximum group of 50 people.
The initiative is part of an effort by the Athens municipality’s culture and sports organization in partnership with the Union of Certified Tour Guides.
Other tours will continue until April 21, 2016, with different neighborhoods in central Athens – most adjacent to the Acropolis archaeological site – selected for the guided walks.
Entrance fees to museums and closed sites are not included.
Reservations are necessary for participation in the tours, which can be made by phone at 210.3313038 (between 10 a.m. - 2 p.m.) or in person at the Athens Municipal Art Gallery.
