Six people, whom police identified only as «foreign nationals», were arrested on the eastern Aegean island of Kos over the weekend for allegedly selling third country nationals fake state documents for use in subsequent asylum applications.
Kos, along with a handful of other islands, has been inundated by waves of Mideast war refugees as well as third country nationals from as far away as Morocco and Bangladesh taking advantage of the refugee crisis to sneak into Greece from Turkey – the first EU leg of a journey to preferred destinations in western and northern Europe, primarily Germany.
