Hollywood star Angelina Jolie was the latest celebrity to arrive in Greece for an on-the-spot inspection of the ongoing refugee/migrant crisis in the country, given that the former is a special – and very high-profile -- UNHCR envoy.
Just before 1 p.m. (11.00 GMT) Jolie briefly visited the main port of Piraeus, where she was surrounding by third country nationals that had arrived and are being temporarily hosted at passenger terminals in Greece’s largest port facility.
A scrum of photographers, television crews and reporters surrounded her, with her brief appearance also shown live on local television.
The award-winning actress arrived at the Athens airport late Wednesday morning aboard a private executive jet, and later emerged from the VIP section.
