Eurogroup head Jeroen Dijsselbloem on Thursday told European Parliament deputies here that the Greek government has submitted “serious” proposals on pension reform, although there are several issues “still open”. Moreover, he added that open issues still exist in terms of fiscal policy in the coming years.
Additionally, the Dutch FinMin said he doesn’t know at present when the first evaluation of the Greek program will be completed.
Dijsselbloem, viewed as amongst the hardliners in Europe vis-à-vis the Greek economic and debt crisis, EZ members understand that the reforms now requested from the Greek government are painful, however, he said he considers it imperative that the agreement etched in the summer of 2015 be implemented by Athens.
