Stocks erased gains of more than one percent after a statement from the Federal Reserve failed to give clarity on where interest rates are headed.The Dow lost 11 points to 12,820. The S&P 500 dipped 5 points to 1,385. The Nasdaq lost 13 points to 2,412. Crude oil tumbled $2.17 to $113.46 a barrel. Conway Gittens reports from New York.
