Restaurants and cafes will open in Greece on Monday, May 3, a day after Orthodox Easter Sunday, the government announced on Friday, albeit with social pandemic-related distancing protocols in place and only for outdoor dining.

The long-awaited opening of the sector in the country will come less than two weeks before the all-important tourism season opens.

A maximum of six people per table will be allowed.

Meanwhile, shopping malls and semi-outdoor discount parks will open on Saturday, but without eateries.
