EU General Affairs Council calls for 'options for appropriate measures' against Turkey 'without delay'

The EU's General Affairs Council on Tuesday adopted enlargement conclusions on Turkey, inviting the European Commission and the European External Action Service (EEAS) to submit “options for appropriate measures” against Turkey “without delay”.

The development came as the Council called official Ankara's refusal to conform with international law - a direct reference Turkey's illegal in Cyprus' EEZ.
