An out-of-court settlement procedure for settling arrears of businesses to third parties will be extended for another year, until Dec. 31, 2019, a relevant draft amendment foresees.
The amendment has been included in a draft bill already submitted to Greece's Parliament. The extension clause also includes certain improvement, according to the government side, such as simplification of the process.
Other reports state that the Greek government is considering the prospect of including arrears owed by businesses, self-employed professionals and farmers, and generated in 2018, to banks, the state and social security funds to be eligible for settlement through the process.
Including 2018 arrears in the process remains an object of negotiations between Athens and its institutional European creditors.
The development confirms a report by "N" on Nov. 30.
