Tsipras-Netanyahu meeting in Varna on sidelines of Balkan summit meeting

Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras on Friday referred to "close cooperation" between Greece and Israel and the strategic significance of the Balkans, during a meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, on the sidelines of a four-nation summit in Varna, Bulgaria.

The leaders of host Bulgaria, Serbia, Romania and Greece greeted Netanyahu in the Black Sea city.

According to government sources back in Athens, Tsipras and Netanyahu reportedly discussed the off-shore Eastmed pipeline project and other bilateral issues, among others.
