Greece's Energy Exchange has reportedly proposed a new measure aimed to act as a counter-incentive in acquiring future energy quantities, via the NOME auction process, for subsequent export to third countries.
According to the exchange's slightly proposal, which was posted on the Regulatory Authority of Energy's website, an "average price" should be imposed on quantities over a certain amount of electricity set for export, rather than at the lowest price achieved at NOME auctions.
The exchange reminded that no restriction on the quantity of electricity that can be exported by a trader or provider exists today.
In terms of delineating what the "threshold" in such power exports should be, the energy exchange maintains that future electricity production acquired through NOME auctions, and set for export, should be at roughly the same levels as the amount of exports corresponding to the wholesale electricity market.
