A new two-year collective bargaining agreement for hotel employees in the country was signed by the relevant labor minister this week, envisioning pay hikes of 1.5 percent for both 2018 and 2019.
As per last month's decision overturning a previous labor market liberalization, signed by Minister Efi Achtsioglou, the new collective bargaining agreement is "obligatory in general".
As such, depending on an employee's job description, the lowest pay scale begins at 780.40 euros (gross) for laundry workers, and reaches 851.06 euros for receptionists, waiters and bell hops.
