Eurostat: Greece still tops EU-28 in terms of jobless rate; figure decreased from 2017

Eurostat's latest figures on employment in the EU show the jobless rate in Greece at 20.6 percent, using the latest figures from January 2018, still the highest in the Union.

Eurostat's latest figures on employment in the EU show the jobless rate in Greece at 20.6 percent, using the latest figures from January 2018, still the highest in the Union.

By comparison, the lowest jobless rates were in the Czech Republic (2.2 percent), Malta (3.3 percent) and Germany (3.4 percent).

Nevertheless, the figure is still improved from 23.2 percent, recorded in Greece during the same period in 2017.

Overall, Eurostat estimates that 17.481 million people are officially unemployed in the EU-28, of which 13.824 million are in the Eurozone.
